Saturday Morning Update #2

We're more or less settled in our new apartment - at least as much as we're going to be at this point. This week, I spent some time wandering around our new neighborhood and check out what the community had to offer.

The neighborhood we moved to is small. We could comfortably walk most of it in a day. The main street runs for about a dozen blocks and about half of that is residential. There's easy access to a couple of dollar stores which I love and plenty of family-owned businesses, but at the end of the day there's not a whole lot here.

No comic shop or book store. There's apparently a pinball place but it doesn't look like my scene and never seems to actually be open. The library is up a hill in the middle of the park and the building is an old mansion so all of the sections are in small rooms across two floors. And the comics section is smaller than our own.

This is a great place to live and it's a perfect small town for families, but the geek in me needs to take a bus downtown to really thrive. For now, I'm enjoying my time here and looking onward to the future.
