Saturday Morning Update is a weekly series where I talk about my adventures in geek life from the previous week. Read on to find out a little bit more about what I did this past week, including what I watched, read, and played.
Batman and Catwoman got married you guys! Congrats to the happy couple! I'm not really current with either of the big publishers and don't really read Batman to begin with, but this is still a pretty exciting moment. Last week I accidentally muttered something about this out loud at work while scrolling Twitter and ended up explaining way too much about comics to my coworkers - that was fun.
WHAT I WATCHED
Since the new season of Arrested Development dropped, I started a rewatch of that. Oh man did I forget how good this show is. I'm also noticing how cheap it is too. Several scenes that are supposed to be at a gym or a store are actually just the model home set redressed. The magic of filmmaking, huh?
WHAT I READ
The Con Artist by Fred Van Lente is a neo noir murder mystery set at Comic-Con. I'll have a full review of it up soon. Spoiler alert: It's my favorite book of the year so far.
I also read the entirety of the first four Kick-Ass books by Mark Millar. They're balls to the walls awesome and beautifully drawn and masterfully written. I want more and can't wait to get caught up on the new Kick-Ass and Hit Girl runs.
WHAT I PLAYED
Hmm... Yeah, nothing. I am always looking for recommendations, though!
