Saturday Morning Update #72

Saturday Morning Update is a weekly series where I talk about my adventures in geek life from the previous week. Read on to find out a little bit more about what I did this week, including what I’ve been watching, reading, and playing.
This weekend is the 3 Rivers Comicon! It's a newer convention in Pittsburgh that is trying to put the comic back in comic con. It's always a lot of fun and a great place to get some cool deals on merch and meet local and indie creators.

This week it was also revealed that Chojin Sentai Jatman, the 1991 Super Sentai series, will be coming to DVD from Shout! Factory this year! This is big news as it's the first official western release of a Super Sentai series that predates Zyuranger (the series that served as the basis for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.) This is also big news because Jetman is the greatest TV show ever made. Hopefully this will mean more releases of older Sentai in the future, which could hopefully lead to releases of Kamen Rider and other tokusatsu series too!

CURRENTLY WATCHING
My brother is crashing on our couch for a while and he brought his Hulu account with him. I've been against Hulu since they changed their business model - which was being free - to one where you have to pay and there are still ads. Bad move. Why didn't this bad move destroy them? Their content library is phenomenal. Lots of shows that have left Netflix, lots of Disney and Cartoon Network stuff that you can't get anywhere else. It's really nice to have a legal way to watch Steven Universe.

CURRENTLY READING
You guys know I just love Hoopla and always rave about how it's the perfect app for comics, right? Well this week I started reading a book book, my first non-comic on the app. I'm reading Aru Shah and the End of Time which is a middle-grade fantasy novel in the style of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series. If you're confused because it sounds like The Serpent's Secret, so was I at first! It's really good so far though!

CURRENTLY PLAYING
I played Undertale for like thirty minutes. Not what I expected. I'd heard it was like an Earthbound type game but so far I've just been solving basic puzzles. I need to play more before I can comment on the battle system.

What have you been up to this week? What are you doing next week? Let me know in the comments below!
