Saturday Morning Update: April 24, 2021

Hey, it's been a while. Life has been a whole thing. You know, pandemic, depression, making comics instead of writing about them, more depression.

Radiant Black
Every issue so far of the new hit series Radiant Black by Kyle Higgins and Marcelo Costa has sold out, sending all three back to print. This is a very good sign that inches the series close to that coveted "will run as long as the creators want it to" position.

Sam Ewing (co-composer on The Walking Dead) composed and recorded a live orchestra track to tie-in with Radiant Black's latest issue—one of the six planned to accompany each issue of the first story arc in the series. Click here to check out the video and click here to check out the full tracks for each released issue.

M.O.D.O.K.
Hulu has released a new trailer for Marvel's M.O.D.O.K., showing off the series' family sitcom vibes and a handful of guest characters from across the Marvel Universe. Click here to give it a watch.

Play at Home
As part of PlayStation's Play at Home promotion, Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition is currently free to download and keep forever. It will be available until May 14 8:00pm Pacific Time / May 15 04:00 BST / 05:00 CEST.

Dear DC Super-Villains
The sequel to 2019's graphic novel that saw kids writing fanmail to the Justice League, Dear DC Super-Villains is an all-ages anthology featuring interconnected stories starring the League's biggest enemies. Click here to get the first one - it's great!

#SavePlanetPanic
Gene Goldstein has announced that Nickelodeon has passed on Planet Panic, inspiring a call for other networks to pick up the project. The series would have featured a non-binary main character in a zany sci-fi fantasy world. Check out the original here.

Spiritfarer
2020's hit afterlife simulator Spiritfarer recently hit 500k copies sold. To celebrate, Thunder Lotus is releasing The Lily Update, adding a new butterfly spirit to the game to help flesh out the story of main character Stella. The update is free and available across all platforms.

Crowdfunding
Only one week left to back Yule, a comic anthology of pre-commercialized Christmas and Solstice horror stories. Off Into the Sunset, a collection of stories inspired by Westerns by a lot of cool people, is just over halfway to its goal. Lastly, from the world of Radiant Black, Inferno Girl Red is fully funded but keeps adding exclusive rewards - get 'em before they're gone.

Invincible
If you haven't heard, the Invincible animated series has been hitting it out of the park with a star-studded cast and hour-long episodes that magnificently adapt the classic comic series. Haven't read it? What are you waiting for?! Click here to check out the Invincible Compendium, or click here to start small with the first volume.

an e-book of the 33rd century
My sci-fi novella, Inferno, is available now on Amazon Kindle. Inferno follows a night watchman on a small planet who wakes up to find himself completely alone. As he tries to piece together what happened he is swept up in a larger adventure involving robots, aliens, rayguns, and more!
