Saturday Morning Update #80

Saturday Morning Update is a weekly series where I talk about my adventures in geek life from the previous week. Read on to find out a little bit more about what I did this past week, including what I watched, read, and played.

Last Saturday was the day Kaiju Big Battel came to Pittsburgh! Thanks to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for the tickets! It was super hard to get good photos with my phone because of the lighting and our seat choice, so sorry about that. But it was a lot of fun! Not as good as last year though. They had cooler characters present but some of the fights were too on the jokey side for me - like Hell Monkey vs. an actual stuffed bear. But it's still a high-energy night and a lot of fun. I really wish they'd come to Tekko next year!

WHAT I WATCHED
We had my little brother-in-law and our nephew in town for most of the week. When they weren't playing musical video games (which is jumping from one game to the next, not games about music) they wanted to watch Digimon Data Squad. These are the kids I wrote about here and Alex, the nephew, has never seen Data Squad because it's not streaming anywhere. So I busted out my DVDs and we made it through the first disk. They both loved it but even I have a hard time on rewatch. Maybe once Keenan shows up I'll get more into it.

WHAT I READ
I've started reading Wizard for Hire by Obert Skye and I am halfway through and not entirely sure if it is really about wizards and magic and not just a mentally unwell old man... but there is definitely a robot bird in it so that is throwing me off. It's not something I was prepared for so I had to put it down for a few days.

WHAT I PLAYED
Hmm... Yeah, nothing. I am always looking for recommendations, though!

What have you been up to this week? What are you doing next week? Let me know in the comments below!
