Saturday Morning Update #68

Saturday Morning Update is a weekly series where I talk about my adventures in geek life from the previous week. Read on to find out a little bit more about what I did this week, including what I’ve been watching, reading, and playing.

Well we had nice weather for two days. Didn't even bring a jacket to work last Friday, wore a winter coat on Monday. Come on, nature!

I finished Blue Exorcist. I've been saying I prefer shorter anime but I think this one ended too early. We get a little bit of development for each character and then they all fight Satan and it ends. I know there is a second series or something so I want to check that out. I also watched Girl Boss, a trueish story about a young woman who pulls a business out of her ass. It was pretty inspiring I have to say.

I finished The Boy Who Went Magic, an upcoming middle-grade fantasy novel from Scholastic that comes out on April 24. You can check out my full review here. I've since started reading The Fandom which comes out on the same day. But... I don't know, this one may not be for me.

With the death of Calamity Gannon, exploring the rest of post-apocalyptic Hyrule feels kind of weird. So I'm taking a break from Zelda and picked up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. We bought this with our Switch to have something to play together, but haven't really touched it (cus we got Zelda!) so I've been unlocking stuff in that. It's sad that your only goal is to go forward and end the race as soon as possible. The scenery in some of the stages is amazing and I wish there was a way to just casually explore them.

What have you been up to this week? What are you doing next week? Let me know in the comments below!
